Black Bears On Pei

Is it a hoax?
P.E.I. has no bears, they say. But a dead bear cub turned up on a road in Piusville, on the island province's west side.
The dead cub was found in Piusville in western Prince Edward Island.
Conservation officer Wade MacKinnon has a simple — if bizarre — explanation. He thinks it's a prank.
"They find a roadkill in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia at the side of the road," he said. "As a prank, they’ll take it here and put it on the side of the road here and subsequently turn around and call the media or call a conservation officer to respond."
MacKinnon says that kind of thing happened last year with porcupines. And truckers sometimes take skunks from P.E.I. to Cape Breton, he said.

and you don't think some hunter would have came across a bear or its tracks before if there was any?
pretty easy way to find out.....get a barrel of jellybeans and a trail cam...u'd be surprised what's on the island.
