Applications sent to eligible hunters for 2016-17 season

There'll be 475 fewer moose licences available for hunters on the island this year, according to a news release sent Thursday from the Department of Environment and Wildlife.

Fewer moose licences will be available for the 2016-17 hunting season.

Eligible hunters will soon get their big game licence applications in the mail.

The application packages will be different this year; Hunting and Trapping Guides will no longer be printed and mailed with the applications, but can be viewed online
