Yes, they are the fibre optic sites. When the light hits them, they give a pretty good sight line. Excited to get out for my first muzzle loading season at the end of the month.

Still use 30-30 and 32spl with iron sights now and again,but yeah inside 50yds.
So ScottU-sight it in with iron sights and you'll do fine.As to your question on shelf life for white hots- see my post above- two year old white hots worked fine for me just a couple days ago.

I like the whitehots myself. A bit cleaner than the t7. I had no luck with bh209. Very poor groups, they could hardly even be called groups actually. More of a pattern. Try a couple different ones if you want, but nothing wrong with the whitehots.

I have a traditions ultralight pursuit. I use 2 Triple 7 pellets , SST 250gr and used Remington 209 muzzle loader primers. Tried some federal 209a primers at the range this year and groups tightened up nice.
