The government is a funny beast. In Cape Breton ... they had a moose slaughter for a number of years to protect the trees ... now they want to clear cut a forest with no regards to the moose. Lets see how this unfolds. Now that it has made the news ... maybe they will re-think this ... or not.

I waited on this one but I guess no one else finds it unusual. Doesn’t the charter of rights and freedoms give us the right to hold a peaceful protest? This was not the first “ sit in “ at a government office but it’s the first I remember the persons being forcefully removed by the authorities. Fined for what !
Once more the authorities overstepped their boundaries. Hopefully those people fight this and not pay the fines!
Isn’t the minister a public servant shame on the minister for not speaking with these people!
How much are the people of this province and country going to take before fighting back!
Our government on all levels continually oversteps their authority and too many just take it!!!

We best read it slowly. Gathering/protesting  INSIDE a staffed government building who is conducting business with the public they don't have a leg to stand on in court

LOL if you don't remember people being removed before you have never lived through a UMWA strike here in the past

In this case .Yes rise up you sheep and you can have a $237.00 fine also sad.png and drug out by the hair if you have any laugh.png

 Cheers

This being the key

  • We are free to think our own thoughts, speak our minds, to gather peacefully into groups and to associate with whomever we wish, as long as we do not infringe valid laws which protect the rights and interests of others.

they were in a gov office which is actually a public place and didn’t break any laws. But when a politician calls the chief of police with a request, the chief gives the order but that doesn’t make it okay.
Funny how some can protest all they want, block highways and or city streets etc etc and the cops just sit by and protect the protesters.

Sorry we are NOT FREE to speak our minds or protest and apparently we don’t even have the right to speak to our politicians whom we elected! THAT MY FRIEND IS NOT A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY

If they didnot break any laws they would not have been charged and they will stick

Highways/ streets  I can turn around or go a different way and avoid them .I can't when I am in my office working and they are outside the door or next to me and that is NOT acceptable and will not be tolerated and rightfully so

Big difference. Protest all one wants but be careful where you do

Cops write citations every day that get turned over by the courts. Too many just pay the fines and complain because they either dont know ant better or because it easier. In some cases the fine is the least expensive way as well. In this instance the cops were told by their boss to remove and fine people because of a phone call from a whining politician.

Recently you’ve started to sound like the rest of the sheeple peoples. Because someone of authority says it’s so you just go along with it. So much of it in these times. Because our gov. “ recommends” we wear a mask in public everyone now thinks it’s mandatory but it ain’t. To refuse anyone entry into a buisness or to serve them if they have no mask or to force anyone to wear a mask violates that person’s constitutional rights. AND the person or buisness that does so can be fined and sued. To tell people they can’t have more then x visitors is not law! Visiting others outside of HRM is NOT law.
Our politicians get away with too much and the more we allow it and go along with it without fighting back the more they will continue to do so.
McNiel tried to use legislation to screw the nurses it didn’t work they fought back and won. Same with the teachers. Just a couple examples of authority overstepping their limits unfortunately more often then not they get away with it like turdboy and his misuse of the OIC which should have created a huge outcry from the public.
Most common folk can’t afford to buck the system but sometimes someone steps up and foots the bill like those who sued the NS gov for not following its own endangered species act and those who fought the development of Owls something or other where they wanted to build a golf course. The list goes on and on.

Go ahead bow down for the politicians do what they want you to and follow the rest of the sheep, I sure as hell ain’t!

Honestly could not care less how I sound days are long gone when I cared what people think of me. My god constitutional rights PRICELESS and what is more shocking you believe that

I say good for you and don't wear a mask but best not run into me or we will see just how tough you think you are . Some things are worth being charged for .Hope you can back it up. Joke is I would bet 100% you wear one also

Had another run in with a guy at canadian tire this week on wednesday who was escorted out of the store by the manager after our little hot engagement. Would not stay back in the line and said he was handicapped so didnot need to wear one well he would have been real crippled if he had of said one more word to me and not get back as I told him and he was lucky the manger showed up and broke it up

LOL they had a security guard stationed at the store the next day not sure if that was why or not

Maybe I am an idiot also for how I deal with this now so be it but I am getting real tired of this form of stupid in some small amount of people here and no more patience for fools not wearing masks in places of business and not going to turn a blind eye if in my face . They will be the ones complaining and blaming the government when we are locked down again here LIKE you are. How is that working

May be more up your way should have listed and wore a mask since they sure don't look so smart do they now especially with the xmas season on us and small business needing those sales to make it

Also if you think the teachers and health care workers won in the big picture with macneil you are grasping. Yes they may have won a battle or two but he won the war

There is sheep less and then there is brain dead with the IQ of plant life in NS but thank god it is not a high percentage of our population . Yep good old USA non mask wearers also and are now worst performer in the world managing this virus. Good job but they have rights also. PLEASE

Did you ever hear wearing a mask is not political or a form of weakness . Only been said a few million times by every news station out there

I say thank god we live where we do and our government and the doc put in place what they did when they did

We actually made CNN last night not as an example of how poor this was handled but actually how well it was

Kudos to old stevie boy and the mainly the doc I say

Cheers

I still see people in stores all the time not wearing masks. Canadian tire is usually the place. If I see someone without a mask ... i walk by and mind my own business. It was announced that there was a single case in the town of Bridgewater, and people are in a frenzy. The media needs to keep their mouths shut. The “western zone” is all people need to know. Everyone is in a panic because people from HRM are now coming our way to shop, because their shelves are bare. The media has everyone “panic buying” again. These people are SHEEPLE !!!! NS has several cases now AND NOT ONE SINGLE HOSPITALIZATION !!! WHY THE PANIC ????  It is nothing more than a bad flu at this point, but let’s instill even more fear until the magical vaccine is available. I am getting sick and tired of hearing people talk about this virus and how scared they are of another shut down. The people that buy into this panic are sheeple whether they like that term or not, and are the type of people that the government love. There are so many mixed messages about this virus, that all you  have to do is just look at them to realize something is “amiss” about this whole thing. Yes its a virus ... yes people are sick and dying.... but it is not anywhere near as dangerous and deadly as they want you to believe. It is all about greed. Bill Gates and George Soros are laughing all the way to the bank.

I think and care too much for my friends and esp my family not to wear one...even though I get short breathed when I do. We're forced to keep track of the times and places we go now...there's really not much choice especially with all the egotistical young punk fekkin bar hoppers and university party planners runnin amok !

The US is totally F'D...thanks to donald !!  Same as Those self righteous idiots in TO at that BBQ restaurant ...they need to be put into a rubber cell for 15 days.

Then right smack in one of the worst case numbers provinces QC premier says...."you kin go ah ed...ave yur christmas"...fekkin dummy !

Yes Donald Trump. It is only now the third biggest killer in the US righty now under heart disease and cancer . Quite a flu

Here more wear then than don't and now it shows. Daughter who spends every second week in halifax for university says it all the time that people don't wear them as much in Halifax as she sees down here in stores

For giggles yesterday while waiting in the truck for the mrs to get groceries I watched and counted every person coming in and out of the grocery store

Total was 106 and every one had a mask going in as did everyone coming out

Good Job capers I say

Cheers

Well said

I have to admit I tried many different types and struggled with them for breathing but always wore one

Then last week the daughter bought some three ply black ones at the price club and man what a difference for breathing

Those I can leave on all day if I had to and they were only like 18 bucks a box

 Cheers

Is it really the third biggest cause of death in the US ??? I would love to know the number of people who “actually die of covid”. Most have underlying health conditions. No one is dying of old age anymore. If we knew the number of perfectly healthy people, getting and dying of covid, it would be a totally different death toll. NS has had a mask policy for 4 months. Why all of a sudden are we getting all these cases now ??? The university students have been back to school for over 2 months. They seem to be the ones getting the blame for the most recent spike. Why now ??? Why not in September when they all went back to school ??? I will never try to change your mind, Joe. You believe one thing and I believe another. I said this right from the start.... we are in WW3 and covid is the weapon of choice. Divide and conquer. If the left gets enough supporters, they will eventually rule the world. They want one government and one form of currency. One little thing like covid has already taken large steps toward a “cashless society”. We will never see it ... but it will eventually happen.

Yes it is. Many University students had to be tested some three times and self isolate for 14 days when they came back in sept they don't now

Humm simple if one listens to what the experts say. More time being spent indoors with people as the weather gets colder and air is dryer there which gives the virus a better chance of spreading they say

A mask policy yes in NS but what percentage followed it seems that is clear now based on where the cases are

On dying from covid who cares what underlining health conditions they had they were alive with it and living and many still would be if not for the virus

Like saying cancer killed a guy that had it but got hit with a car and died in the cross walk

The car killed him not cancer and the cashless society was coming virus or not the next generation don't want to handle cash any more

How do you explain the “rapid tests” being done on anyone that was at a bar or restaurant in the city of Halifax AFTER 10pm ???? Does the covid stay hidden during the day and only come out to play after 10pm ??? Do you realize how many bars and restaurants there are in Halifax ??? I’m sure a few potentially infected kids did not go to every one of those places. Fear fear fear !!!
