A little survey to see what peoples thoughts are...which one of the two would you pick if it was offered in a trade, and why.
A Browning Abolt in 7mm magnum, or a Remington 700 in 7mm-08, both stocks are synthetic.

Depends on what I already have.

Do you have a magnum rifle already in another cal? Do you already have a dedicated deer rifle?

Too many variables.

I think a 7mm-08 is a perfect deer rifle for NS.

7mm mag is a bit of overkill unless it's a long shot, good for moose though.

Any upgrades to the rem 700? do both come with glass? etc. The browning is probably the better rifle but what are you going to shoot more?

A Bolt, only because I have one and its one of my most accurate rifles, and the big 7 could be more useful out west.

I figured I would have to give more info lol.
I don’t have a magnum calibre. I am out west for another 3 years. My go to is a 30-06, but I do have a .270 and a .243
There is glass in the browning, none on the Remington. No mods on either.

Personally I would take the browning.

Guess I am going Browning, I already have a Remington 700 and I might someday need a magnum calibre;)

Sounds like a plan, usually can't go wrong with a Browning.

Browning if you are into a 7mm mag  .That is unless it is a vintage BDL 700 from pre 85 with a switched stock then the remington hands down

Plus 7mm 08 is a sweet caliper and way less recoil . I have one in a 7600 pump and she is a keeper

Cheers

Same reason they don't all use the remingtons. happy.png  but those that do, ..maybe it's cuz there's buckets of parts laying around every where wink.png wink.png

The canucks love the Mac C15...they hold the record(s) for the longest confirmed kill shots...I'd say that the yanks would too since their AZ based HQ.

OK I remember them now on the roofs of the C-68 rally in Ottawa sad.png

Just kidding. I knew we had teams of them in WW2 and Korea but didnot know we still have an active  group other than a few special individuals

Really..the only part of the 700 they use is the action. Everything else is aftermarket. There's a hundred companies out there that started up and are thriving making aftermarket parts for the 700. Same thing applies for the Ruger 10/22's also.
