Have a legal problem...... well you've come to the right place. Post your issue, get many and varied responses, user discretion is advised!

Why does every conversation have to turn into a "I know the law better than everyone else" conversation. We are all adults and can read the regs..... can't we.

There has to be better things to post about than this stuff at every turn.....

So are you complaining because there are two active threads that were put in place specifically to discuss certain laws and people are actually in those threads discussing them? Did you read the topic and expect something different?

More topics complaining about other topics are cool though... continue.

They should have a category "Hunting Laws, Morals, Values, and Ethics".
Then if one posts there they can expect to get preached at by all the "Johnny be goods"

Chessie I am no expert at anything but you must realize that when issues arrise there will always be varying opinions, and thats what you find here just that opinions,on public forums. One should not get their shorts in a knot because another may or may not agree with yours or any others opinion,so long as its respectful. As far as the law is concerned there maybe many interpretations of a specific law, even judges will give different interpretations on matters sometimes .Personally I find your post on this as negative and just something to start another one of those negative discussions that stir up things unnessarilly with no possible positive outcome,we are all hunters of the same and different disciplines but none the less we are still all hunters and we should not be encourageing any negative discusions, thats just my opinion.

This is funny, and I was actually enjoying the topic. I re-read Readeth's posts again last night and I actually think we were saying the same things but he left out a few key words that I thought were important, and then I seen someone else picked that up too. But you know what... its ok, its the internet and its not the best form of communication in the world, and its sometimes hard to explain things in typed words.

For every post that I disagree with, there is another post that I learn from, so keep it up guys.

I don't know how anyone could ever expect topics regarding the law to NOT come up on a hunting site. Here's a list of the common laws most of us have to concern ourselves with if we care to hunt in this province. Even if you don't care to understand them, you are still subjected to them.

If you're using a gun, you can start here:

Canadian Firearms Act:
http://laws-lois.jus...ng/acts/F-11.6/

When you're ready to buy a license, you can concern yourself with these:

Nova Scotia Wildlife Act:
http://nslegislature...es/wildlife.htm

Bear Harvesting Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...regs/wibear.htm

Deer Hunting Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...gs/wideerht.htm

Dog Hunting and Training Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca.../regs/widog.htm

Firearm and Bow Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...regs/wifire.htm

Forfeiture of Seized Property Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...gs/WIforfit.htm

Fur Buyers, Hide Dealers and Taxidermists Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...gs/wifurbuy.htm

Fur Harvesting Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...gs/wifurhrv.htm

General Wildlife Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...s/wigeneral.htm

Guide Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...egs/wiguide.htm

Hunter Education, Safety, and Training Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...gs/wihunter.htm

License and Permit Suspension Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...lifelicence.htm

Moose Hunting Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...egs/wimoose.htm

Small Game Hunting Regulations:
http://www.gov.ns.ca...egs/wismall.htm

When you're ready to hit the woods, don't forget to be aware of these:

Protection of Property Act:
http://nslegislature...tes/protect.htm

Criminal Code of Canada:
http://laws-lois.jus...15.html#docCont

Not a chance of people having differing opinions on any of those since they are all written in a clear and consise maneer and they all agree with each other.   The justice system has realized that sometimes even the judges get it wrong, that is why we have a court of appeal. Go Figure.

They were started because another unrelated thread was somewhat hijacked for a few pages.

Sincerely... ;)

Thank you Bernie !!
No question...there are those who would say I am guilty as charged.
But there are also those, who know me, who would tell you I have 'hunting at heart'.

Internet forums are difficult...It's hard to convey, in the written word, what a personal discussion makes apparent.

The discussions that bring this topic about...trespaass...Hey, Man..follow what you KNOW.
When in doubt...Don't do it...It'll spoil your day !! (maybe your season ;) )

(You could count on one hand the number of people I've added to their rating...and you're one of them. ;) )
