2381 Views 73 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  Rembolt
Here is the new shooting schedule out for the Atlantic region for 2023.
I have 19 selected that I'm really hoping to make it to this year. Maybe...just maybe another 1 or 2 out of towners in PEI or NB. About 2000+ rounds at the competitions...
Not counting the 1000 or more rounds the grand sons and I will shoot at Nova Sporting this year. Gonna be a blast !! Literally !!

Not gonna lie buddy...it was cold...windy...snowy...freezing gropple.. RAIN...clumps of slush falling off the trees, and I'm sure I felt hail on my frozen fingers at one point...lol.....but it was fun !! Great course of targets. (( fekkin rabbits ha ha ha)) 38 shooters total braved the elements...but I suspect the weather held them home. Jason Bartlett had the HOA with a 87 / 100
He bested me by 1...I was 1st place in A class with an 86...lol let some easy ones get away from me...like always tho...heh heh
Great score for a poor weather day Kevin ,Ibet a little taste of CR was in store when you got home to warm your bones.
Bring that heat to Kentville on Good Friday and again Well Done.

I hear you buddy I have handled a lot of different sickness in my life after age 46 and figured cancer would always be the worst but my god this diabetic is by far the hardest one so far for me to get on top of and has the crap scared out of me and I am trying so hard and getting very frustrated
I guess if my left foot didnot act and look like it does some times still I would accept that I have got my sugar down to 8\10 and go with that but man I sure don't want to lose a foot and I guess what got me so worked up is I have two friends I went to school with one that lost one and one two in the past year so I am freaking out ever since
take care

I would question his score. I left the shoot and mysteriously my score and a couple others on our squad dropped …. his remained the same :)

Well I guess we will find out Friday in Kentville cause there is two things Kevin and I do well is shoot and eat and
the wife is making homemade beans and corn bread to go along with the potatoe salad should be a noisy trip home.

pity anyone who is traveling home with you. Ive heard stories about you and the "stuck" window locks.😃
Well as they say when one shoots you need to allow for wind.
You guys should post some standings to the various shoots!

I will tell you, the shoot in Kentville you need to allow for wind for sure. Not sure the birds flew the same path twice.

Shot in the afternoon and man was it blowing probably 60 to 70 klm and out in the open you never knew what you were going to get much like hunting. There was a great turn out of 96 shooters and plenty of grub , I beat Kevin with the gun but he took me with the fork so thats why he was practicing with the clan at Nova today. Nice to see all those young fellas falling in your foot steps Kevin well done. Looking forward to shooting with you at the Rizzini shoot , Have an order in at The Gun Dealer ,free shipping and a chance to look and shoot new toys and possibly win shells and high end shotgun for a prize. Would highly recomend this shoot for new shooters or anyone interested in sporting clays or dusting off the old 12 guage and letting 100 rounds fly. April 29 a Saturday in Gays River

Ross is bringing down some more "stuff" for us lol... a new Browning Hells Canyon 7mmRM rifle for my son...some bullet tips..maybe a couple more lbs of Longshot few more odds and ends....theres ALWAYS odds and ends..lol
Mark..The youngest guy has been shooting 410 for the past two years. Last year he tried the SX4 20 ga for a couple stations, and broke a few targets with it. It was a little too long for him. I'm thinking he grew 10 inches since last year...seems like it anyways. Yesterday, he wanted to try it out again on station 3...and so he did...he started breaking more targets with it and he never looked back...lol. Shot it the rest of the day !!

Sooo, then I asked him...so now what about the new Citori 410 I just got you last year ???...without missing a beat, he looked back over his shoulder (as he was on station) pulled a 20 ga shell from his vest pocket and held it up..." trade it for lots more of these" lmfao.....friggen kids !!!

Yes Kevin I was thinking about who was paying the bill when I was walking away because I know how kids work but well worth it, having fun and getting to spend quality time with them and teaching them valuable life skills. They will remember shooting with old Grampy the rest of their lives and besides it is only money:cry::cry:

It was an absolutely stunning day yesterday for the Maritime Rizinni Championship shoot at Nova Sporting Clays in Gays River !! There were approx 111 shooters all doin what they love, and in Perfect weather. We had a great squad, with a couple of special guests with our entourage ...Corey and his 5 yr old daughter Addy bought us homemade treats and walked the course with us..she said she enjoyed herself, she wished me a happy Bday too...really made my day for sure !!!

note My eyes were older yesterday...lmao...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ..ha ha ha

Buuuuut, perfect weather or not, I struggled to get a 72 / 100 yesterday...giving up some easy targets ! I shot an 86 /100 in a rainstorm for the Lunenburg opener...maybe I need the rain....lmao

Top shooter Anthony Wambolt had 90/100 targets !!!! He's always an impressive shooter with some great eyes for quick target acquisition !!

...close behind were 2 shooters with 88's...couple guys in our squad had 86, 85, 82. Mark got me by 4 targets and I got Lloyd by 1...lol Just seeing friends from NB, southern end of the province, local area too..it's sooo great !!
118 shooters total registered, out of that number, I think 111 showed up.. great support for the club ! I think more of the crowd is travelling again to shoot since covid stopped the world from spinning !!
Lotsa fun, nice draw prizes...cases of ammo for the top shooters. No new gun for me this time. I think it was a new shooter that won it !!! Betcha that'll make him want to get out more...lol.

Picked up my "stuff" lol... that Ross bought down for me, and hung out with him for the afternoon. Few of us always stay and help him pack up and get him on the road quicker. My turn to treat him..sent him home with a cooler full of cooked lobsters on ice...treating him like he treats me and the clubs I support and try and help out !

The 4 part Nova Series Shoots start next weekend...May 7th is the opener in Lunenburg. This series has a big following. 2nd one will be in Kentville, 3rd one in Yarmouth and the finale in Weymouth !!

CAN'T WAIT !!!!
