I think I stopped hunting there in the 80's when the moose got restablished. What an awesome place it was growing up for deer. People came from all over, and the communities prospered. Instead we put moose on the island, not open to anyone but folks from Nova Scotia in a draw. The deer population got dessimated. It seems to me the moose was to only please the natives. Not one thing has been done there in years down there to turn the deer problem around. Sad. Now talk of addressing moose concerns in other parts the province, so lets do the same in other areas. What about deer concerns. One only has to look at the deer zones of Cape Breton to see how many years its gone unchanged to figure out there's a problem. Sorry but the moose took a lot away with little to no return. Have friends now for thirty years travel off the island to hunt. That just don't seem fair.
