Like someone else has said make sure you can get ammo for your choice, I do see .223/5.56 on the shelves and some .22-250 not sure if .243 is around. You may or may not reload and you may or may not have reloading supplies, even those are hard to come by these days.
My guess with all the 223 they banned there is going to be a lot of that kicking around now

For coyotes if you don’t plan to stuff them and don’t care about the pelt I’d want to be ready in case three or four come in together. I highly recommend a 50 cal machine gun, blow them S.O. B’s to hell and gone!!!!
I’d did use a 50 cal on a couple but not a machine gun; was a GD muzzle loader and when two Yotes showed up at my apples I couldn’t reload the damn thing quick enough to shoot the second one, that’s why I would go with the machine gun plus there a lot more fun!
