Wonder if anyone is tracking this.

Nope it is a done deal on c-21 and what you posted is just a formality. OIC's took care of a lot of it already or they are just doing it now regardless if they have full parliament approval like the handgun freeze is one example. They cannot lose with the NDP in their pocket

Are you tracking that they will be able to perform a warrantless search and seizure because you belong to certain denominations of certain religions?

Really? It actually says that in the legislation? Have to admit I haven't bothered to try to find the text of the law.

You realize if you own more than 10 firearms or they suspect you do or are a collector or under many provincial wildlife's acts they can also do that now meaning the warrantless search
So big deal if there as you say IMO but is it written like that???. or this
Bill C-21 allows anyone to ask the courts for a warrantless search and seizure and provides no provision for the targeted person to defend him or herself before the judge. In fact, the suspected “dangerous” person doesn’t even have to own a firearm. The judge only needs to believe the person “might have access to any such thing.” Clearly, this legislation opens the door for searches based on spurious grounds, where law-abiding Canadians, who pose no risk to themselves or others, are vulnerable to vindictive neighbours, former partners or busybodies.

Regardless
That is the least of the impact of bill c-21. It is simple keep your firearms ALWAYS stored properly and make the coffee when they come
Years ago I had two such searches when I was a collector and had a gun hating neighbor who would call complaining all the time about my guns and he was scared imagine and it was no big deal

Edward L. Burlew, L.L.B. CSSA Counsel says

The Firearms Act provides that a firearms officer may inspect any premises where there is suspicion of more than 10 guns existing.

C-261 adds the ability for a provincial judge to decide it's better for you not to have guns if you belong to or are participating in a hate group, hate speech, or hate activities. I'll get the link later today but a recent working group on equality and hate in the military recommended that chaplains belonging to Evangelical Christian denominations be let go from the military as they were unsupportive of equal rights for women (no female pastors). They have also started hinting that the Bible is hate speech when it comes to anything other than heterosexual relations or two genders. Putting the pieces together you can see that the groundwork is laid.

Conditions — firearms

(7) The provincial court judge shall consider whether it is desirable, in the interests of the defendant’s safety or that of any other person, to prohibit the defendant from possessing any firearm, cross-bow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device, ammunition, prohibited ammunition or explosive substance, or all of those things. If the judge decides that it is desirable to do so, the judge shall add that condition to the recognizance and specify the period during which it applies.

Ok seen that which I add is not new but where does that say anything about hate groups , religion etc as you said. Focus on what is there now what some think is there

In the same bill:
Fear of hate propaganda offence or hate crime
Start of inserted block
810.‍012 (1) A person may, with the Attorney General’s consent, lay an information before a provincial court judge if the person fears on reasonable grounds that another person will commit

(a) an offence under section 318 or subsection 319(1) or (2);

(b) an offence under subsection 430(4.‍1); or

(c) an offence motivated by bias, prejudice or hate based on race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other similar factor.

Which means that a person can make a request/complaint to a provincial judge about an individual whom they think might make an offense based on 'sexual orientation, gender identity or expression'. The judge may then, using his own opinion, allow a search and seizure of firearms from that individual.

This includes:
Communication of hate speech
Start of inserted block
13 (1) It is a discriminatory practice to communicate or cause to be communicated hate speech by means of the Internet or other means of telecommunication in a context in which the hate speech is likely to foment detestation or vilification of an individual or group of individuals on the basis of a prohibited ground of discrimination.

I still have to locate the document but a recent committee recommendation to the government about sexual and gender issues in the military recommended the release of all chaplains of certain denominations because those denominations did not allow female leaders and said homosexuality was a sin. We have also seen people in other countries, Finland I believe was one, fired and/or jailed for posting Bible verses online about such things. We have also had local churches who were refused summer student funding for refusing to sign the federal government's attestation on sexual orientation.

One does not have to have all of the puzzle pieces in place to see what the picture is.

Had a chance to find the report I mentioned earlier. Here is a link to the full report: Minister of National Defence Advisory Panel on Systemic Racism and Discrimination – Final Report – January 2022 - Canada.ca

Here is a small part of section 6.
Another important point is that, at present, some chaplains represent or are affiliated with organized
religions whose beliefs are not synonymous with those of a diverse and inclusive workplace. Some of the
affiliated religions of these chaplains do not subscribe to an open attitude and the promotion of
diversity.
For example, some churches' exclusion of women from their priesthoods violates principles of equality
and social justice, as do sexist notions embedded in their religious dogmas. In addition, certain faiths
have strict tenets requiring conversion of those they deem to be “pagan,” or who belong to polytheistic
religions. These faiths’ dogmas and practices conflict with the commitment of the Defence Team to
value equality and inclusivity at every level of the workplace.
If the Defence Team rejects gender discrimination, anti-Indigenous discrimination, and racialized
discrimination in every other area and is working hard to remove systemic barriers to the employment
of marginalized people, it cannot justify hiring representatives of organizations who marginalize certain
people or categorically refuse them a position of leadership.
Guess I don't understand why so up set
All this is doing is spelling it out in detail
It goes on every day now believe that or not
We have no rights to firearms. It is just a privilege that can and has been taken away from something as simple as a stink eye
Firearm owners in canada have to be very careful what they say to people or do any perceived threat will cost you your guns in 2022
We are always guilty until proven innocent :(
Cheers[

The difference is, before, you had to be shown to be dangerous to people. Now, you only have to be offensive to someone, or, even worse, you are defined as offensive to Canada as a whole just for your religious affiliation. As this trend continues, it will soon be illegal to belong to certain denominations in Canada. They will need outlawed as hate organizations and terrorist organizations.

True! We're held to a higher standard of behaviour. I have never said anything like "Do that again and I'll shoot you!" But I've heard lots of non gun owners say pretty much exactly that! Of course they didn't mean they would actually shoot someone. Times have changed though and ALL gun owners now more than ever need to always be above reproach.
Stuff like this has been going on since confederation!
Gov passes laws / bills citizens lose rights and get restrictions. People ignore it and move on esp if it doesn’t effect them personally. FFS I once posted about seatbelt and wearing a helmet law- well guess what 95 % of people on this site agree those are good laws. Forget that it takes away an individual’s right to choose!!! Gun laws are no different esp since the large majority of Canadians agree with the liberals. You guys are waking up waaayyyyyy to late the gig is up the country is down the sewer. Gun owners are DOOMED.

I agree that I, along with many others, are late to the party. I don't agree that it's too late. It might be, but it's not a certainty.
