Can I just say how sick and tired I am of hearing just about everyone, and by that I mean people on both sides of the political spectrum pretty much across the entire world, but especially here in Canada and in the US, resort to calling someone ANTIFA, Left wing, Right wing, etcetera every F'ing time someone, anyone, says anything they don't like!

Jumpin' Jesus! Just because someone points out a fact or point of view you don't 100% agree with does not mean they are 100% stupid, dangerous or whatever. Often the answer to our shared problems in this or any other country is somewhere between left and right, somewhere between government spending neither too much or too little on social programs, somewhere between supporting minorities and individuals of different sexual orientations to an appropriate level and to an extreme level. On and on. But, far, far too often nowadays it seems everyone goes too far one way or the other. Find some middle ground or eventually the whole place will go down in flames!

It's the same rehashed stuff on both sides as Tony pointed out, more than once.
The "leave the country if it's so bad" is worn out too. Many Canadians don't like the direction the country is going today, it doesn't mean they should leave. It also doesn't mean they're lives are bad or miserable, maybe they are just concerned for the direction that the country is going under it's current leadership. It also doesn't mean they are looking to overthrow the government. Bashing everyone and everything Conservative is no different than the other side of the coin. I guess, if a person thought all was lost in the country, they could leave. Many Canadians now live in Mexico, and Panama etc.
Some have even said the same about this site. They bashed everyone and everything said, including mods and then left. At least we can look forward to some new youtube video links.

We live in a representational democracy, supposedly. We who vote also have the right to complain about the results of the election and the behaviour of the elected representatives. We don't flip the table just because we lost at monopoly. However, when we find that there is cheating involved or the representatives are not representing the people but serving their own interests, we have not only the right but the responsibility to ensure that the offending persons are removed from the office and actual representatives are installed. Now, it is perfectly within your rights to tell me you think I should leave the country because I don't agree with you. Just as its my right to give you the uno reverse card on the statement. Neither of us has the right to eject the other from the country.
I will say that I do see a large amount of name calling, ad homin attacks and other disrespectful behaviour, especially from one political leaning on this forum. That's fine. Just realize that your behaviour affects how seriously I consider your arguments or statements. Some of you act like two-year-olds having a tantrum and I put the same stock in what you say as I would a toddler.

You just don't get it bud. It isn't Canada that is broken, it is the modern day conservative movement that is broken... seemingly beyond repair. Conservatism has been taken over by the far right fringe minority, starting in the USA and now well entrenched in Canada also, sadly. The most vile, hateful, racist, homophobic, xenophobic members of the right wing - a tiny minority - have taken over Conservatism.

Doing what is best for Canada & Canadians is no longer even pretended to be a priority. It is ALL about owning the libs! and gaining political power (winning an election) at all costs. They point fingers and scream 'divisiveness' while doing their absolute best to tear this country, our government and institutions apart for the sake of scoring believed political points... as if governing our nation is some kinda sick game to them. Who continually brings up threats of separating? Nowadays only one party, the Conservatives. They offer no tangible solutions to any of the real or imagined problems they try to stir up Canadians with. Only outrage, and most of that is simply theatrics for a soundbite and clip on social media.

If you guys are all so convinced that the country & government are in as bad a shape as you say, toss your name in the political hat and get elected to create the change you so desperately desire. But for the love of gawd quit coming online and spewing up your political bile here, you make the rest of us sick witnessing it. Normal people are tired of the constant whining!

My statement about the flat earth was that it was easy for people to be taken in because of how it is presented. I'm admitting that I'm not perfect and that I can be taken in. The thing is, much of what YOU are posting, along with many others, is just the same. You think you've got it all figured out and you're laughing at those who don't agree with you but you can't see you're believing in your own version of a flat earth. I'm smart enough to know that I can be fooled and I'm always listening to alternate opinions to make sure I'm not in an echo chamber. On the little bit of social media I'm on I have feeds from all kinds of divergent views. Never once have I attacked the intelligence or beliefs of anyone here. I did poke 3macs1 a couple times just to watch him spin up, but I'm not ridiculing anyone for their beliefs. I just wish they would actually open their eyes to the possibility that they haven't got the whole thing correctly figured.
Look back at my posts. How many times do you see me with the rolling on the floor laughing emoji? Now look at your posts and 3macs1. Constantly mocking people who don't agree with you.
Want a serious conversation, then get serious. Otherwise, you're just more noise.
