How long does protection from COVID-19 vaccines last?

Experts don't know yet because they're still studying vaccinated people to see when protection might wear off. How well the vaccines work against emerging variants will also determine if, when and how often additional shots might be needed.

If they encounter the same virus in the future, those battle-tested cells could potentially spring into action more quickly.

Even if they don't prevent illness entirely, they could help blunt its severity. But exactly what role such "memory" cells might play with the coronavirus -- and for how long -- isn't yet known.

I was a little young to be using chemicals in the 60's.
However in the mid 70's my friends and I were all very aware of the immediate and long term effects of LSD (acid),methamphetamine (speed) horse (heroin) etc., so we choose not to use them.
Plus THE EXPERTS WERE WELL AWARE OF THE LONG TERM EFFECTS TOO !!!

Figured I would have a sore arm at least or be tired so mama would back of the work schedule or coming from Pfizer figured something may rise from the dead

One of the vaccine makers stated yesterday that those who have taken the vaccine do not have protection from the new varriants. They now have tweek the present vaccine or develope a new one. Go figure, just how many injections of what will be required at what risk? They first said one needed three, now those three would not give protection so another would be required, and another, and another

I hope things go well. I have a few friends that got sick around the 10-12 day mark for some reason. A buddies wife has still not got back to normal.

I 100% understand that a lot of people, myself included, are pissed at health officials that, quite frankly, lied through their butts about masks last year. They should be charged for public endangerment (or something) in my opinion. You can find pictures from 1918 of people wearing masks to help protect from that flu epidemic. You can't tell me they did not know exactly what they were doing when they lied about mask use. I do not like being lied to any more than the next guy. And I don't trust Trudeau any more than the rest of you on here. But.... all that doesn't mean Covid is a hoax.

It isn't a hoax unfortunately. I said "It's just a bad flu." when this all started last year. I was wrong! Its a hell of a lot worse than that. Over the last year deaths from the flu have been extremely low compared to other years simply because of the precautions we've been taking to prevent the spread of Covid.

Please get vaccinated if you want life to go back to something like it was. Yes, we will still have to take precautions for a while yet because a vaccine won't stop you from getting or passing on Covid, unfortunately. But, we need to do everything we can to stop the virus before it mutates even more and kills even more people. Remember, it could kill your friends, children, grand children.

We don't know what we are receiving in the vaccination. I was in the military, when the gulf war took place many of my friends were injected on the boats with unproven substances. Today they are sick and the government has turned there back on them. The vaccine maker and the government accept no liability. This is an emergency vaccine with no time to properly research the side effects. Its funny how some see it. I got a buddy that got vaccinated. He thought no one should have choice, yet in the same breath he says he will only getting the Moderma as he did not trust the others? Everyday the vaccination story changes. Right now they are saying that none will protect you from the new varriants. So if you have had two shots, is it three or four or maybe more required as time goes on? Some of the manufactures say they now are working to make another vaccine? Don't forget each injection has its risks of blood clots, etc. Life is not changing things with one being vaccinated. Get that straight. My buddy after being vaccinated thinks he can now travel. He can't because they have no idea if they actually work? People should not be pointing fingers at people, they should be very mad and pointing the finger directly at Trudeau as he has put all of us behind the eight ball. We are where we are because of his incompetence. The virus could mutate 10 times by the time every Canadian got vaccinated at the rate this has been handled. We gave away our supplies, to date there is no where to buy approved masks like N95 etc. Instead people are wearing cloth, turtle necks, hankerchiefs, ski masks, home made, even under wear over there face. Nothing that has any proven filtration measure of keeping the virus out. Bill Blair the safety minister spent the last year trying to confiscate legal firearms from people rather that shut down our borders to the virus. As people want people to all get vaccinated they are still letting folks in with the new virus. Makes no sense. Like trying to herd sheep into the barn with the back door wide open.

If the vaccine worked like a polio vaccine or a small pox vaccine ... more people would be on board.... I think. It is a flu shot ... plain and simple. Nothing more ... nothing less. It is still in the experimental stage and humans are the guinea pigs.... as the death numbers from it show. When a vaccine company holds ZERO liability towards health issues ... or death ... that is a problem... IMO.
