I think we need to have more referendums, that way the people decide instead of a Liebral minority party propped up by another Liebral (NDP) minority party.
I watched a good video of what the green movement for batteries really is and it will never happen all the minerals for batteries are minerals in rock which has to be mined.Lol all the environmentalist want mines closed lol there profesional protesters the powers to be will never meet the demand ever.Oil gas and coal give us 89%of our usable energy with the truillions spent on green energy to get 16% wats it goin to cost to get rid of the rest if that guy is even close to bein right its never goin tro happen lol....
That green movement is built on feelings and fairy dust, not facts, in my opinion.
Hipsters driving plastic cars, sitting on a plastic chairs and typing on plastic phones cursing the oil that made it all.

You're not wrong. Trouble is, as I see it, that modern life costs a hell of a lot of carbon and pollution, virtually no matter how you live it.
Things become the flavour of the day, decade or whatever and the loudest, best funded voice almost always convinces the most people that IT is right.
I don't know if EVs are ultimately better than the existing combustion engine ones when it comes to pollution. What EVs do though is move pollution around. So many people think they're great because the pollution has been moved away from them.
Just like the plastic you mention. Or organic produce. People think they have the whole story but many definitely do not.

some good reading here on the EV impact hit that report link also
Henry ford experienced the same with his generation and how did that work out Will be no different here in the future
Like it or not EV is here and staying so best get on board or walk every where
Cheers
It's all about the 15 minute cities. Most people won't be able to afford an EV. When you think about EV's .... think about the construction workers with back hoes, excavators, etc. Farm tractors, combines, etc. Combines run 24 hrs during harvest. Will these ever go to electric ??? They are focusing on the passenger vehicle side of things ... the vehicle that leaves the least amount of carbon. The only thing different between a Ford F150 and the Ford Lightning, is the power plant. When you take into consideration what's involved in making a battery, and the coal producing electricity to charge it ... how much "cleaner" is this vehicle ???? EV's are the biggest scam since covid.

You think anyone cares if you can afford a EV how many can really afford a car today but have one since they have no choice if they want to go any where
No the farms never changed In fords days either and are still using their horses Just like their current diesel equipment will be replaced with electric some day
Hide in the cave it may give you a few extra years Also coal is gone real soon
Happening like it or not and call it what ever you like and some comparison a FORD product they have been the cleanest vehicles ever since the first one was produced since they don't RUN or burn anything
It is well on the way and at our age we will have an electric vehicle way before most in the form of an electric wheel chair

I know it's happening whether I like it or not. I'm hoping I will never have to buy one. When I drive to Florida ... I do it in 2 days. 3200 km. How many times would I have to stop to recharge in those 2 days ??? Now, when I stop for gas ... I fill up, take a leak and on the road again. Won't be doing that with an EV. Once again ... boils down to 15 minute cities. They don't want people traveling. I would love to see the actual (not the government version) comparison of an F150 and an F150 Lightning. I bet there is very little difference in the carbon footprint in these two vehicles. I wonder how many emissions were polluting the skies when all the Monarchy worshipers were driving and flying from all over the world to take in the coronation ???? .... and Chucky is one of the BIGGEST supporters of Klaus Schwab and his WEF. Total hypocrisy..... and the masses are sucking it all in. Bottom line ... we use oil for just about everything we use on a day to day basis. Making cars electric will not make a huge difference in climate change. Just the other day ... they made an announcement that there would be more flights out of Halifax to various locations that weren't offered before. In a day when we are supposed to be cutting back on emissions ... airlines are offering more flights. Trudeau has no issues jumping in our jet and flying all over the world. Total hypocrisy and total scam. The climate is changing and all the EV's and all tax money, is not going to stop it.

Good and it won't be a problem since if not happening yet it will you will be needing to make a lot more stops to pee soon so a EV will be good for you
and none of us know that I am pretty sure our next one will be a hybrid to start so that will be 2027 for us since we get a new one every 5 years normally

I do like the concept of hybrids. I always did. 100% electric .... nope. They need to do a lot of work to make them worthwhile. I think EV's are great for city drivers in warmer climates. Rural commuters in cold climates .... stick with the gas guzzlers
Carbon dioxide is heavier than air. All Earthbound sources of CO2 keep it at ground level where it is absorbed by plants. In fact, the current science says that if we reduce the current levels of CO2 we will start to see plant die-offs.
Now, CO2 produced high in the atmosphere is another thing. Airplanes produce more CO2 per passenger and in the dangerous place.

There are 5 of them now in my family and I am watching closely how they work out
Wife's uncle is just a street over or so and he loves his Was just telling me 35 bucks for gas to halifax and back 2 weeks ago
I like that

Suggest some more research is done all it does is slow down growth and not kill them lots of plants in caveman days when there was no gasoline etc being used
Not true at all it just slows down growth where did the co2 come from in caveman days and lots of plants But know 100% high temps sure kill them even from short blasts Been there many times in the greenhouses

More and more cannot even afford a used car and are giving up working. As this foolishness moves forward the used car market goes through the roof. My wifes side has people in Ottawa (micro soft). They can afford a RV, and a good one. They had one about six months and they said its just not working, being having to plan your whole day on how your going to get there or back, or broke, they now have turned to rental vehicles (gas) for the time being. Go on you tube and look at machinery like tractors, excavators etc. Will take forever to get jobs done and many they cannot like gas driven. I could only imagine the float charges each day one would pay the contractor to take home and recharge each night. Life is going to be great😀.
The idea of a hybrid, where the gasoline or diesel engine runs at its optimum speed, drives a generator which then drives the wheels electrically with some capacitive and battery storage to meet surge demand, is a great idea. More efficient use of the petroleum fuel. However, full electric will never match the energy density of petroleum. Petroleum is as close as we can get to a perfect fuel. Energy density, stability, etc. With low sulfur fuels and low temperature engines (to reduce NO and NO2). The main outputs are H2O and CO2.
Joe how can you say coal is gone soon, Donkin got a 25 year lease for production for example and the only reason industrial areas have switched from coal to run industry is the abundance of cheap natural natural gas in cities to run manufacturing plants. Most of our powerplants are coal fired and no plans or cash to replace and if that supply of natural gas is cut off like in Germany right now its back to coa;l fired plants. It cost to much to change heavy industry over to solar or whatever from nuke plants , coal or oil .It seems to me the only place the libs wanna shut coal down is in alberta along with oil and the oil from saudi to que definitly aint bein shutdown cause theres no votes in that....Anyway we'll never see a large scale shift to ev in our lifetime its to much money and far more destructive on the planet than oil is imo.IT'LL take way to many mines in north america for the activists and overseas with all the warlords and huntas gov the supply of minerals wont be smooth or profitable. In my opinion hydrogen vehicles is the way to go but the problem is when ever someone comes up with good cheap tech they die lol...Not enough money for the rich.Anyway thats my opinion on ev and the green shift

I agree. I think EVs are here to stay and I also believe they do have their place. Though I do not think they are the answer to all our problems like some would have you believe. I can't help but wonder though if hydrogen fueled vehicles might eclipse them.

I suspect we will see hybrids become acceptable as part of the requirement to have "electric" vehicles by whatever year has been stated.
Like you, I think hybrid makes good sense. Yes, they have both a combustion engine and large battery so you do not get the maintenance savings like you would with 100% electric. But they are far better on fuel, thus less pollution and avoid the issues of having to charge them in remote locations.
