Taking Friday off to try for some geese. Maybe early Saturday I'll try my crossbow spot again. It's usually a doe spot but you never know.

 

I am hoping to get back out again as well.
I hunt alone nowadays, but I used to hunt with a group and it was always a lot of good fun.

 

I have hunted with my kids and I have a senior hunting buddy (his wife won't let him hunt alone) but I seem to have the most success hunting alone. I'm really thankful for the successful youth hunts tho.

 

Not sure how many of you use Windy for weather but I was just looking at the next few days of weather going into Saturday. Holy F*** what is up with the wind this year! Between now and Saturday the winds are showing North, then East, then South, then East again. Between 5am and 10am on Saturday alone the winds are showing a strong East wind then doing a complete 180 and coming from the West. Brutal when a lot of us probably have a West/North facing stand.

 

I use windy and I've noticed the wind being high and odd. Zoom out and notice the cyclonic pattern.

 

It get's weirder into the weekend as that cyclonic pattern moves on top of us. Just bizarre for this time of year

 

It doesn't even move on top of us. It disappears and another seems to form. Starting to wonder about that manmade weather modification stuff...

 

Bite your tongue !!! We all know there's no such thing as weather manipulation 😉

 

change of wind direction sometimes will make them move a bit.

 

Why so much wind you ask ??? Easy answer...lobster season is just about here !!!!

 

How many days are they gonna end up delaying dumping day this year? Doesn't seem to be letting up

 

Not sure yet Spencer. Looks like wind and rain all weekend which could make it hellish or impossible to load the boats prior to Mondays normal dumping day.

 

Heard rumor boys being pussed till wensday. I'd imagine final decision would be made today

 

Final call in the AM tomorrow. As of now, it's a GO for setting out on Tuesday ..winds are diminishing !

 

I just hope everyone that goes out, whenever that is, comes back in safe and sound! Hellish time of year to be on the water in a small craft IMO!
