Hi,

I own a polar bear rug which I would like to get appraised. It has been lying in the ceiling for I don't know how many years, so it is a bit worn due to the changing temperatures and the humidity. A few patches of brown can be seen and it is a bit uneven. What do you think it would go for?

All appraisals are greatly appreciated, but please state if you're not experienced in dealing with bear rugs.

I can't see there being many polar bear rug experts on this forum but you never know.

I also forgot to mention that it is a cub measuring 117 cm (46") from head to tail and 120 cm (47") from front paw to front paw.

i dunno but I'd say u might be disappointed....it must have been a cub at that size and the ears look damaged.

For your sake I hope I'm wrong but I suspect it would come in pretty low....but I'll admit I dont really know

Dont expect much for it.

Seems its very small for a polar bear.

Seems to be lacking a heavy coat of fur.

No felt trim .

Ears are damaged or have drummed

Without paperwork I think its illegal to have! You may have paperwork.

Polar bears that sell for top $$ are 10' rugs done with felt trim and backing

I've seen some big prices for rugs, but that one is not going to fetch very much. It's small and in poor condition. I wouldnt part with it for what you'd get.

Wow, just looked at the pic. Looks like an albino Teddy Ruxpin! I can't see anyone wanting a "cub" rug. You may have a hard time even giving it away.

I honestly wouldn't have paid 25 bucks for it in that condition...rough is an understatement....lol...did you happen to turn your head when you accepted the money ? was is sold to a 'mercan ...he'd need papers to get it home...IF indeed he could at all.

Yep and the new owner I assume now has it on kijiji for sale thinking they are going to make a fortune I guess
