Recently looking at getting some new replacements of my " stuff " I regularly use on firearms for glass bedding...refinishing..etc. I almost hacked up a batch of new born kittens !!! WOWZERS !!!

First up...circa 1850. Bout 7 or 8 yrs ago, I bought a gallon at Kent ((well...3.68 liters))...39.99 plus taxes. So I was going to grab another gallon a few days ago....75.00 PLUS the frills !!!!!
WHAT THE ???/.....I ended up paying 24 and change for a small liter...946 mls !!
Mannn alive, glad there's still a bit of profit left over for corporate Irving!

Second go round...
I have a few of my rifles to restock and glass bed. Been using Devcon 10110 for probably 12-15 yrs on most jobs...some Brownells Acra Glass and Acra Glass Gel in between there too. Called Stellar Industries, company I dealt with for years for different things for the boat. I haven't bought a box of Devcon in 6-7 yrs. It was 46 bucks then for the 1 lb box / kit. Spoke to Tom yesterday I told him what I last paid and figured it'd be up some. Then he said, you're in luck...got 1 box left...then he said you sittin down...lol...why I said. He hits me with ...IT'S 110.00 BUCKS plus taxes now !!! Man...am I ever lucky !
I thanked him for his time and told him I'd get back to him in a day or two. Checked with Amazon, they have it...118.99 plus shipping(non prime) dayyyuuuummmm !!

Sooo, maybe I'll go the Acra Glass route. Did lots of rifles with it...never any issues. My last Acra Glass kit was 44 bucks...all in. Probably 4-5 yrs ago, come from Epps IIRC.
Called Basspro to see if they had any...I might just as well been talking to the vet about a breech birth pony !!!!
Looked around... Just checked with RustyWoods (my new goto place for some regular stuff I use)...79.00 (gel) and 75.00 (glass) bucks respectively !!!!!! plus the taxes and shipping of course.
Dang....am I really THAT out of touch on these and hundreds of other products ?? I realize companies have to make a profit, but do they have to make it all on the first guy thru the door ??
A day later and I'm still shaking the kittens out of my throat !!

Crazy! When will it end? Will triple the price be next?
I did the dollar store readers, then the off the shelf Costco readers, but I think I am getting due for a pair of prescription glasses before too long as the mid range isn't as good as it should be. Long range is still good though!

I found that too, Tony! The Costco ones are better lenses as well and don't scratch up as easily.

We will only be trading one monopoly for another and the power company will control your lights, heat and transportation!
The big storms of the future will not only leave you without heat or power, they will leave you without transportation! The good thing is if the 15 minute cities fly, you're electric car will give you plenty of charge!
I will stick with my wood heat and gas/diesel vehicles.
Is the concern what it costs us personally in carbon taxes on our fuel or the fact that it costs us more for everything else due to what the businesses are paying in added carbon tax? You can guarantee if the government wasn't coming ahead on it, it wouldn't exist! All tax gets passed down to the end user, us!

You are the only one You can laugh at me all you like if you look at what is going on today old harper either started it or tosses it out there and never followed up like this carbon tax
Liberals are not smart enough to think of all this by themselves and yes harper was a stupid idiot but the people around him sure were not
Cheers
this dude was brilliant iMO

Where we you in 2015 when he needed your love:p:p not even his friends wanted him relected

I was there for him in 2015. Trudeau or Harper, who would you pick?
An old friend of mine, a Welshman with polar opposite political views from mine, once called me a fiscal Conservative.
When I asked him what his definition of that was, he told me it was someone concerned only with budgets, and only willing to spend money that they actually had.
I told him that I wasn't offended, as only a Liberal would consider that an insult.

No need to answer the question, one just has to read between the lines.
You sure remind me of a certain Welshman, I know.

Wow, I guess Wyatt Earp made out pretty good being born in 1848 and dying at the age of 80!
While getting shot at to boot!
This is the first that I've heard of this place. May have to check it out.
Some crazy prices for sure, Walter. Makes a person wonder if prices will ever come down anywhere near where they used to be. Lots of gouging going on if spruce is close to 3x the price. Fuel costs are high but not that high. I think someone is making a big profit and it ain't the worker!

I only buy things at Canadian Tire when they are on clearance or good sale. I figure those are close to the reasonable/actual prices.
Same here. If it isn't a big sale, I don't need it. Usually find a few good deals on the Big Red sales!
Got my duck hunting coat for $35, 70% off.
That's the kinda deal I like!!
That is a good tip on the lighter test, especially with the high dollar lure prices, nowadays!

And why would they want to catch it? Higher prices means more tax collected!
What amazes me is people pay inflated prices for everything all year long, gas, groceries and day to day items resulting in thousands of dollars yearly. The government gives you a fuel rebate, climate incentive or one time cheque for $500 or $1000 bucks and everyone is ecstatic!" The poor people actually come ahead, it's the big corporations that pay", that's the narrative. The added cost by green initiatives etc. put on the companies are passed down to the end user, which is us, with higher costs. Write a small one time cheque and people think they are coming ahead!

Same mentality with the gun grab, "I don't have one of those, so sucks to be you!'

True!
The consumer always pays in the end!
The other aspect of government not getting involved is that people don't want "big government" regulating and monitoring everything. Well, except when it benefits them personally of course.
I would gladly trade the handouts in exchange for them keeping their "hands out" of my pocket as much!
