I been using dewalt power tools my entire career amongst others like milwaukee metabo makita bosch hilti etc and dewalt out performs and out lasts all of them if china is making the parts for them id say they are doing a fine job.
Seems from their web site they are being made everywhere the parts I like their 3/8 impact driver and we use four of the construction radios in the greenhouses which is one of the few that have stayed running with all the moisture. I have two of their drills but honestly still go to my old 20volt craftsman for any big jobs. I just find it lighter and feels better in my hands and I can control the screw driving better. Might be just me also from using that style since they came out
Lots of bosch here pretty much all my corded stuff and the cordless drill I may have out of the case twice again just didnot like the feel. Had a dewalt table saw and also didnot like it or how it handled plywood so sold it and back to my vintage craftsman there
Some history on the parts here
In December 2013, DeWalt issued a press release stating it would be bringing some assembly of a small selection of their products to the United States using globally manufactured parts from Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The products assembled in the United States would be branded under the label, “Built in the USA with global materials.”

So nsp charged you $1000 to disconnect the power to your panel so electrician can change main breaker?
No, neither NSP or the electrician would give me a breakdown. The bill was the amount for a 45 minute house call, the breaker, and the disconnect reconnect by NSP. I heard that NSP charges a lot for the disconnect/ connect. I don't know.

Something not right there you should know what you are paying for.I took out a disconnect/inspection/reconnect permit last year that required a bucket truck to disconnect high V fuses for a 3phase system and i believe the cost was $450.Depending on what panel u have a 200A breaker was likely a big part of that bill then tack on emergency service call voila $1000

. (c) Reconnection of electric service, whether metered or unmetered, to any premises after the Company's normal working hours, if requested by the Customer and is a reconnection associated with non payment. $28.00 standard charge plus $75.00 charge for additional costs

(e) Disconnection-Seasonal Electric Service $30.00 standard

INSPECTION FEE SCHEDULE INSTALLED VALUE OF ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION INSPECTION VISITS PERMIT FEE $ 0,000 to $ 2,000 value

So if they charged that 28 bucks twice one for connect and one for disconnect or even the 30 no idea say they do like 127 bucks . Hope the electrician was not a friend :( You know I bet he was a Liberal :p

I can only vouch for their recips drills drivers really and the amount i have seen dropped from ladders and lifts or subjected to water and survived is impressive.I still have one of the original 12V dewalt cordless drills still runs strong had to replace batteries once.

I only really got into them when I could not get the old craftsman any more so don't have a lot of years or experience with them but as you know a ton of them around I am on my 4th or 5th set of craftsman batteries and bought the adapter so use the dewalt battery on them now makes it a bit heavier but keeps my old drill running
The 3/8 impact that replaced my craftsman is a beast and will snap 3/8 bolts with ease and hard on the wrists if she twists

Just finished to price up a remodeling of front entry area once come in the house , we have stone tiles that we were considering putting in for a zero maintenance option , well when I put this stuff in 2017 after the flood my Contractor price was just under $5 square foot , today I priced it at $11 square foot contractor price more than double , not to mention the cement has trippled for such to $30 a bag, Clear Spruce casing I rip down the centre to make mouldings was $16 a 8 ft length it it now just under $41 for a 7 ft length .

any remodel job or reno job today , best put your Eye teeth down to help pay for it , lumber has come down but finishings and materials needed for such has more than doubled or trippled

I am still into my kitchen reno. Waiting for new counter top to come in. Thinking I would do a back splash I checked on these new peel and stick tiles. They wanted $30-$67 a tile measuring 9x9. So I thought about doing it the old fashion way with tiles and grout. 12x12 inch tiles now go for about $12 each, lord thundering.

Remodel I just priced is 130 square ft of area and $2100 for just the stone itself same as shown just different color , when I did it in 2017 , I used over 350 square ft in 2 room in 2 colors variations , trim is hand made at the top after it's ripped then add my own hand made cove on router table . Todays price would be well over $6000 once finished . Crazy how some stuff has gone up .

Some crazy prices for sure, Walter. Makes a person wonder if prices will ever come down anywhere near where they used to be. Lots of gouging going on if spruce is close to 3x the price. Fuel costs are high but not that high. I think someone is making a big profit and it ain't the worker!

What's your opinion on Dewalt versus Milwaukee? I've been using a Milwaukee driver just lately and its so powerful the bugger will strip screws very easily.

My advice, not that you asked, I wouldn't use peal and stick. Spring for the real thing. No matter how good your installation job is, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

Also I wonder how that peel and stick works with the heat around the stove
Not very good , between heat and humidity ( Steam of the pots ) it will peel off , I put back splash in real ceramic tiles , for the price of those I just go with real thing like I did in my Kitchen Reno .
I'm sure you know this but here's my steps used since I took my trade in 86
Remove all gyproc , install plywood
Put on a scratch coat of motor sealing the seems of plywood with drywall mesh tape and screed of mortar over it . Allow dry 48-72 hours after scratch coat .
Then start your tiling with spacers you desire .
Allow to dry full 3-7 days b4 grouting and ensure the grout fully goes full depth of the tiles used .
Ensure all residue from grout is removed , once ready to seal grout , take small paint brush and give 3 full coats by hand to all grout lines .
Hope it helps any who are unsure of proper applications , I only use tile underlay systems in bathrooms where heavier moisture is present and always use plywood in place of any other sub-straight

I think milwaukee is likely right there with dewalt some of the departments i used to work within had contracts with milwaukee and hilti, the milwaukee fuel was very popular. Many different options for both.
Using dewalt for so many years and seeing the abuse and reliablility has just kept me loyal.

Mom had a peel and stick backing from kent put on behind her stove a few years ago still looks like it did when they installed it.Far as i know they just put it on over the existing gyproc thinking about doing the same for my kitchen sink backsplash. If you get a contractor to do the install be sure to get a breakdown of the costs☺
