So if any of you remember when this first happened the Indian community jumped the gun calling this a racist attack and protesting in the streets for justice.

Well looking at who the guilty party is and based on what our supreme court has to follow when sentencing this is going to be very interesting especially since the charge is manslaughter now.

The Indian community is going to be pretty shocked when they see the "Native Canadian" sentence this guy gets.

He will get off lightly as he will claim he was too intoxicated to know what really happened , but not too intoxicated to run from police . The band will want a Healing Circle and get him into treatment to ease his sentence saying he's trying turn his life around and so on . This will get interesting as the others go to court and get a slap on the wrist as well . It's a broken system and sad state as criminals get away with even murder and bargain down for simple guilty plea to stop the back log on the courts themselves . Putting murders away for 25-30 yrs is cruel punishment , but families live a lifetime of punishment from loss of a loved one while these types walk the streets in 8-25 yrs depending on sentences and how they interact in Prison and society as a whole pays the largest price

Manslaughter is maybe a 10 year sentence max, out in 5 for good behaviour, wouldn't be surprised if he gets 3 years, maybe serves 1.
