Hello,
I am a fly fisherman and fly tyer looking for some information. One of the feathers I use is a Wood Duck feather for tying tails as well as other parts of a fly. Is the Wood Duck hunted in Nova Scotia to any degree? When is the season for Wood Duck? Would it be possible to get a Wood Duck skin? Thank you for any and all help.

Yes the wood duck is hunted here.
If I can get one this year I can pass it along.
You might want to try asking again in October when the season starts

Thank you, superslickie, for the kind offer as well as the information. Many, many moons ago I used to hunt Black Duck and Teal in New Brunswick but that was 50 years ago. It would be great to get a Wood Duck skin as there are a lot of feathers I could use for tying trout flies. Do you skin them or pluck the feathers out or can you do either? Thank you again, I really appreciate your kindness.
